It is extremely important that your children’s vision is tested regularly. Young children are prone to eye conditions that can affect their education and career choices later in life.
Regular eye examinations will help us to monitor your child’s vision and health. A simple eye examination can highlight general health problems, including diabetes.

Our experienced optometrists will also give you all the information and support that you need to identify eye conditions in your children’s vision. Squints and excessive blinking are often indicators of a developing eye problem.
Should your children require eyewear to correct their vision; our friendly and knowledgeable practice team will help you to find the perfect eyewear for them from our selection of children’s spectacles.
All of our practices have baby changing facilities and a children’s play area. This helps your children to feel relaxed and comfortable in the practice environment.

Eye conditions like short and long-sightedness can cause your children to feel frustrated at school, either because they can’t see the board at the front of the class or they’re struggling to read close-up text.
Professionals including pilots and train drivers require perfect vision. If easily treatable eye conditions are left undetected they have the potential to cause infection and permanent vision loss.
Astigmatism, eye strain, colour blindness and short and long-sightedness are all common conditions that cause problems for children at an early age. To prevent these conditions from disrupting your children’s education we recommend that they have an eye examination before they attend school, and again every 12 months up to the age of 9.
