Memory Opticians in Salisbury and Amesbury have expanded their team by the appointment of a new resident Optometrist and Partner.

Simon Small has joined the practice and will work alongside the team and fellow Optometrist Martin Memory to further add to the practice’s capabilities.

With almost 30 years in the optical industry, Simon brings many years of experience to Memory and a wealth of specialist expertise.

In addition to providing eye examinations and contact lens assessments, Simon has completed further study in minor eye conditions, cataracts, glaucoma, and myopia control contact lenses to further enhance the range of services offered by Memory Opticians.

Qualifying in 1991 from Aston University, Simon moved to the Salisbury area soon after and has made his home in Wiltshire.

Along with his work at Memory Opticians, Simon also provides mobile NHS eyecare for the housebound and the homeless in the region.

Simon said: “I am delighted to join Memory Opticians as a Partner and Optometrist and I am very much looking forward to meeting all of the patients and continuing the same high standard of service, eyecare and quality products.

“Being part of an independent practice is something that really excites me and means we can offer a comprehensive level of personalised care and a thorough and more dedicated eye care service.”

Katie Memory, Director and Managing Partner said: “I’m very happy to welcome Simon to Memory Opticians; he is a terrific addition to our already fantastic team.

“His vast amounts of experience, both within his field of optometry and as a Partner, will be an asset to the practice as we continue to expand.

“I can assure all patients that they will be in safe hands when they have an eye examination with Simon and I’d encourage them all to take advantage of his expertise.”
